Erin Duffy, Esq.
Senior Associate
Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Erin attended Northern Illinois University College of Law. She graduated law school a semester early and sat for the February 2016 bar exam. She began her legal career prosecuting traffic, ordinance violation, and DUI cases. She later handled residential real estate closings before becoming a decision writer for the Social Security Administration at the Oak Brook, Illinois, Office of Hearings Operations.
As a federal employee, Erin received an Exemplary Contribution of Service Award and evaluated fee petition cases in addition to her disability decision writing workload. She returned to private practice in 2021 with the goal of utilizing her experience working for SSA to help people navigate the challenging and nuanced area of disability law. She is passionate about her work in the appellate section of OBL where her experience is put to its best use.
Erin lives in Sycamore, Illinois, with her husband and two children. As a former cheerleader and high school cheerleading coach, Erin serves as an Illinois High School Association official for competitive cheerleading in the winter months. When not working or judging cheerleading, she loves spending time with her family, traveling to northern Michigan, cooking, and reading.
